My interest in dogs began as a child (around 5 yrs. old). My parents always said, when you grow up and move out you can have all the animals you want.   My desire to have an Australian Shepherd began as a teenager, after seeing them at horse shows.  Little did I realize where that interest would take me.

We have been in the breed for more than 14 years.  Our love for them is just as strong now, as with our first Aussie, Mattie (Sailaway's Matilda Bay, CD).  After we acquired Mattie, we learned more about the breed.  First important note to remember is our breed IS NOT from Australia.  They originated in the western United States.

For more than five years, my husband, Steve, and I rescued this breed.  We worked hard to find good homes.  Rescue made us aware that this breed is not for everyone.

Our breed is agile, free flowing in gait, intelligent and extremely loyal.  Our breed can be seen on farms working livestock, in the conformation show ring, the obedience ring and the agility ring.  They are found as service dogs, providing assistance to the hearing and sight impaired.  Aussies are used in search and rescue.  We truly have a versatile breed!

Alice is a native Atlantan and Steve has lived in Atlanta since 1960 (making him almost a native).  We stand committed to our breed.  Unlike many breeders that re-located often, we have always been in Georgia and will remain so.  You can always find us!
